The Future of Autonomous Cars

Autonomous cars have changed the whole outlook of the transportation industry. We have noticed specific upgraded shifts in the industry, which has marked the beginning of auto production. The automobile industry has launched cars that work on automated features like automatic parking, collision detection, etc. This is all due to the automobile industry’s hard work and research that they are now capable of advanced navigation without needing any human assistance.

In the previous year, the US department secretary met with several industry experts, and they discussed what it would mean to update vehicles and what’s coming next. They emphasized increasing the automobile sector’s automation and making an easy way out using the latest technology. The first thing you should know about automated vehicles is the current state and the motorized vehicle’s future, their growth, and their performance in the future.

Today’s cars have driver assistance, and they are present in the top-rated vehicles. There are also different automation levels, from level one to straight level five. For level one, the person drives the car but gets a warning like a spot assist, and in level 5, the driver doesn’t have to do anything. There are level two and three cars with some automated functions, but it is always the driver’s job to pay attention while driving. Some cars exist at level five—the funding companies test across the globe. The only thing which the companies need to think about is consumer trust. The companies promote autonomous vehicles, and there are trust issues regarding autonomous cars.

What Can Autonomous Driving Systems Do?

Automated cars have machine-corrective and machine-assisted technologies, like potential collision and automated parking. Tesla and Audi include semi-autonomous driving features that fall in the level three function tier. The most enabled motors have been falling into level two and three categories. The fourth level of functionality is still under development and is undergoing the testing phase.

Other industries have a cautious outlook on technology development. The co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, was once bullied for self-driving cars. At that time, self-driving cars were far away from the word ‘implement.’ Moreover, Waymo also stated that self-driving vehicles would not drive in all weather conditions. As we move further and the technology is increasing, there are many hurdles to overcome as advancements grow. All should be well settled and implemented before level four and level five reaches the customers.
