Your car is an integral part of your life. You rely on it to get you from Point A to Point B, and sometimes you even use it to make a statement. No matter your reason for driving, you want your car to smell fresh. But what can you do when the smell of last night’s take-out starts to overtake the interior? Here are eight ways to make your car smell fresh again!
Clean Your Air Vents
The state of the car’s air vents is one of the most prevalent reasons for an unpleasant odor in a vehicle. The air that enters a car when clogged with dirt and germs will have an unpleasant odor. So, to begin, clean out the car’s interior air vents. A tiny, thin sponge or cotton swabs might be used.
Remove all vents in the hood, including those at the top and bottom. Also, check your car’s cabin air filter while you’re at it. To maintain a new scent in your automobile, this must be replenished on a regular basis. Finally, drain the A/C overflow tube. To clean out any dirt and debris that may have accumulated in the drain tube, squeeze it gently with your hand.
Dryer Sheets
Our laundry pals will assist us in maintaining our automobile odor fresh. For a fast refresher, hang dryer sheets on the air conditioning vents. However, instead of tossing your car fresheners after a few months, use them to store your dryer sheets. For the vehicle, the fabric bedding will serve as a deodorizer. It can be used as an under-the-seat fragrance for long-lasting odor.
You may also make your scent repellents using domestic products such as Downy Unstoppables or Gain Fireworks. You may also store them in small mason jars with holes in the lid or tiny mesh bags. Place these in the vehicle’s cup holder, on the console, or under the seats for an immediate fresh smell.
Coffee Beans
Coffee beans are one of the most refreshing odors available as a car air freshener. Put some beans in a tiny mesh bag, socks, or even a little paper bag. They’re excellent deodorizers, and they can absorb unpleasant smells in the vehicle. Leave them under the seats as an inexpensive deodorizer and freshener. Change the beans regularly to keep them fresh.
Maintain a clean area for the cones, so they don’t need additional cleaning if they spill. Make sure it’s in a sturdy location, like the cup holder, to avoid cleaning up after them. Ground coffee is another option, but instead, use tiny, consistent containers like a salt shaker.
Essential Oils
Essential oils will not only keep your automobile smelling fresh. Some may believe that essential oils are costly, but you only need a few drops at a time. Place this on the console for immediate car aromatherapy if you already have a diffuser. Cotton balls soaked in a few drops of essential oil can also be used in the car. For immediate freshness, apply them to the vents or side pockets.
You may also fill a spray bottle with several drops and spritz it inside the vehicle. When you have susceptible passengers, you may spice things up with peppermint or lavender to assist them in avoiding nausea or vehicle sickness. They’ll be free of vertigo and the stale odors in your automobile.
