Avoid Parking Under These Things!

Just like cars are one of our necessities, you should know that cars, in turn, have their set of necessities. Now, we all know the most standard requirements of any vehicle, such as fuel, regular maintenance, and so on. However, one of the most underrated yet highly essential requirements is a garage. That’s right. Just like you have a safe space for yourself to crash every night, your car also deserves the same treatment. It is a matter of safety, which makes a garage important.

But then again, not everyone has access to a garage or can afford to build one. Besides, you don’t have a garage at your convenience everywhere you take your car. So how must you park at such times? Well, you need to protect your vehicle from all sorts of damage, that is for sure. The best thing to do is stay away from any potentially destructive parking spots. And how can you identify those? Read this guide to find out!

Trees

Before we get to discussing why you must never park your car under trees, let’s just put it out there that it is understandable that you want to park your car in a shaded area. And, of course, trees provide shade naturally, which is why most people actively practice parking under a tree. What they fail to realize is that trees are essentially home to birds. And you know what happens when you leave your car open to birds- you find your car covered in bird poop. You may think that you can deal with the problem by running a simple cloth wipe over it every day. However, it can cause long-term damage to the paint job on your car.

Bridges

Once again, the typical thought process behind parking your car under a bridge is to avoid direct sunlight from ruining your interiors. However, know that parking under a bridge can cause much more significant damage than the sun can do. How is that? Well, bridges have several openings, columns, and other elements. And through the gaps of all these components, water leaks out. So, if you park your car under the bridge, the chances are that water will continue to drip over it all the time. This will result in water spots, sticky material, dust, or pretty much anything that’s stuck in there.

Other Fixed Objects

It is crucial to avoid trees and bridges while parking, but know that other fixed objects can cause even greater damage. And by fixed objects, what we mean is anything and everything that can either fall entirely or in pieces. You may or may not know about this, but every day, so many accidents occur where a fallen object from something above damages the parked vehicle.  And this may include objects like electric poles, signals, billboards, building extensions, and the list goes on. Even in parking lots, always make sure that there is no heavy, damage-causing fixed object above your car.

In addition to these, the following are also some of the worst parking spots that you can park at:

-Near children’s playgrounds

-Near dog parks

-Near garbage bins/trash locations

-Near intersections

CONCLUSION

All in all, it is fair to say that parking is a tricky business, especially if you want to keep your vehicle protected. This is why it is best to either invest in a personal garage or equip your vehicle with external coats and other preventive measures so that you don’t have to think too much.
