Cars You Should Never Buy In 2022

2022 is almost over, and with it, there have come many new car models. However, there are a few models that you should avoid buying altogether. These cars will disappoint whether they’re too expensive to maintain or just plain outdated for a new model. So if you’re in the market for a new car next year, steer clear of these vehicles and get behind the wheel of something you will enjoy! This post will discuss some cars you should never buy in 2022.

What You Should Look For In A Car

There are a lot of things to consider when purchasing a car. Beyond the make and model, you need to consider fuel efficiency, safety features, and resale value. However, an essential factor in choosing a car is finding one that fits your needs. Are you looking for something that can seat a lot of people? Do you need a four-wheel drive for off-roading? Do you want a luxurious interior or something more practical? Once you know what you need, you can start to narrow down your options and find the perfect car for you. After all, you’ll be spending a lot of time in your new car, so you want to ensure it’s comfortable and has no hidden issues! And, of course, don’t forget to take it for a test drive before making your final decision.

2022 Lexus GX

Cars

With the rising gas prices, the Lexus GX is one of the least fuel-efficient vehicles on the market. It’s a large SUV that guzzles gas and doesn’t even come with all-wheel drive. And that is just the beginning. The cabin in the 2022 Lexus GX 460 looks like it’s stuck in the past for at least ten years; despite having an all-new infotainment system, it doesn’t do much just for the leather interior. Most of the dashboard and door cards are made of leather, aluminum trim, and wood inserts, giving them an old appearance. If you’re looking for an SUV, there are better options on the market that don’t come with all of the negatives of the Lexus GX. It’s not a comfortable car to drive, and it certainly won’t be winning any awards for its performance. In addition, because it is a body-on-frame SUV with high ground clearance and 19″ wheels with reasonably low profile tires, the ride quality will not satisfy many.

2022 Ford Ecosport

Cars

While attempting to keep up with the competition, Ford lacks quality with the EcoSport. It’s a small crossover SUV that comes from the Fiesta platform. The second generation of the EcoSport was given a 2017 facelift which morphed it into a more sophisticated design; however, time and continuous production have dulled its reputation. Now in 2022, the device doesn’t excel compared to other similar products on the market. This SUV is significantly shorter than most others on the market which unfortunately translates to less interior space. This lack of space makes for an uncomfortable ride for everyone but the driver. Despite better performance figures than some comparable vehicles, the 2022 EcoSport is no match for most of its competitors. The 0-60 mph takes 10.4 seconds and can complete the quarter-mile in 16.9 seconds. Compared to the Mazda CX-30, with a 0-60 mph time of 8.2 seconds, the EcoSport seems slow and sluggish. So for those looking for a roomy and quick small SUV, the Ford EcoSport doesn’t deliver.

2022 Honda HR-V

Cars

The Honda HR-V was a pioneer in the small SUV market when it first came out, and it was one of the first to offer AWD. It’s a small and practical vehicle that has served many well over the years. However, the 2022 HR-V is from the same platform as the previous Honda Fit and felt like it had been designed to a price bracket. Meaning it lacks a lot of comforts. As far as power goes, that area is lacking as well. The only engine offered is a 141-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder coupled with a CVT automatic gearbox, which makes it both sluggish and uninteresting. Unfortunately, some of this vehicle’s other issues make driving even worse—for instance, the lack of cargo space. At 24.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 55.1 cubic feet with these seats folded down, the HR-V is one of the worst in its class for cargo capacity. In addition, the HR-V has a very small fuel tank, so you’ll be making more trips to the gas station than other SUVs. That is why you should look elsewhere if you are in the market for a compact SUV!

2022 Ford Mustang

Cars

The Ford Mustang is a staple in American culture. It’s an iconic car that has been around for over 50 years. However, the Mustang of today is a far cry from the original. While it may have tried to keep some of its retro looks, the 2022 Mustang is not up to par with its competitors. The biggest issue with the new Mustang is reliability. The 2022 model has already faced some serious issues that are documented. Some of these problems that have been occurring are transmissions that shift roughly and require software updates or restarts at the dealer to fix them. Also, display screens tend to go blank or freeze, occasionally needing a new hardware replacement altogether. And while you should expect much out of a muscle car as far as gas mileage, the Mustang boasts a super low 19 mpg which is one of the worst in its class. If you’re looking for an American classic, you might want to wait a few years for Ford to work out the kinks on this one.

2022 Chrysler 300

When you think of a Chrysler, you might think of a luxurious car that’s comfortable and has a lot of features. And while the Chrysler 300 may have been that at one point, it’s now just an outdated vehicle. The design language is old; in reality, from the outside, it is almost difficult to tell it apart from the Chrysler 300s of a decade ago. And the inside isn’t much better. Most of the other cars in the class feel a bit modern. The Chrysler 300 doesn’t have any of the new features available on other vehicles, such as a completely digital gauge cluster or wireless smartphone integration. In terms of the state-of-the-art technology you would expect in a luxury vehicle, the Chrysler 300 is also way behind. The base model lacks certain safety features that are almost standard now, like active emergency braking or lane departure warning. And you have to pay extra to get basic perks like blind-spot sensing. For those who expect to pay for luxury and get the latest and greatest, the Chrysler 300 is not the car for you.
